I wear tights to work; only natural colours. Only with the company i work for, their uniform supplied is dress coded black tights. I only wear around the house or going out to parties.

I don't wear hoisery, haha even the word sounds old lady to me, like I want to pronounced it in a horribly bad British accent - hoizshery...However, tights are a whole different thing. I love tights. However, I live in San Diego where life tends to be a bit more casual than usual. From pure fashion snobbery, there is nothing more horrifying to me than nylons worn with an open toe or sandal-like heel or shoe. shudder.

Great post, Sarah. I just twittered about it! I enjoyed reading the nylons article too.

To weigh in on the debate, I do not think nylons should be required in the workplace.

Last weekend, I saw someone wear nude nylons that hook around the toe, so they looked natural with open-toe shoes. I had no idea she was wearing nylons until she pointed it out.

Also, I enjoyed visiting the new Journal Women section of the WSJ's site. I suggest sending a trackback to the article you described.

Excellent work.
