Riding the Coachella Wave: Maison Kitsuné Music Events and a Pop-up Shop

25 Apr

Last week, my favorite Parisian fashion and music label Maison Kitsuné took over Hollywood with a pop-up shop and three epic events at the Roosevelt Hotel. Very smart marketing considering the high volume of activity around fashion and music during Coachella Weekend 1 and 2. This is a best practice to remember when planning out your marketing calendar around specific events.

The celebrations commenced on Wednesday at Spare Room, with a live showcase debuting Heartsrevolution’s new album, and performances by Navvi and Chrome Canyon.

The party continued with a Kitsuné Club Night at Teddy’s on Friday, where fashion insiders grooved to live music by Prince Language and Jupiter. VIP guests joined Masaya Kuroki, co-founder of Maison Kitsuné, in the swanky depths of the Roosevelt.

Kilo Kish, Eli & Fur and Them Jeans turned up the beat at a Kitsuné pool party at Tropicana on Sunday. Throughout the week, party goers shopped exclusive tees and vintage pieces at the Maison Kitsuné pop-up store at room 100. And boy do I love a good pop-up store when you pop them up in influential areas! This gives customers and influencers a chance to get to know your product in an intimate way while creating an environment that drives your brand identity.

Follow Kitsuné on Soundcloud for stellar music! Here’s a mix from last week’s Kitsuné Club Night:

How to Leverage Facebook and Your Cell: Who ya gunna call? Savoy’s Hotline!

22 May

Savoy Hotline

If you haven’t heard of the EDM subgenre Lovestep yet, do me a favor: 1) Go to 2) Follow Savoy. So, what is lovestep?

Well, I have the answer from the founding fathers, Savoy, by just giving them a call. The guys told me, all that’s required is a melodic baseline that basically makes you wanna get it on. They asked me if I “concurred.” I said “Yep!” and proceeded to giggle.

Enter the power of Twitter…

Not sure if I’m famous, but it was a nice ego boost 😉 In conclusion, I’m giving Savoy 5 stars for their efforts to reach fans. It’s VERY important to foster those relationships early on and Savoy has it down perfectly.

Want to give them a call too? Here’s the number: 321-8-SAVOY-8. Remember, only call the number when they say it’s open. Check their Facebook and Twitter @SAVOY for the latest.

Kohl’s Teases Jennifer Lopez’s New Project on YouTube

1 Sep

I’m all for using branded video content to promote new products, and Kohl’s did just this with a few teasers on YouTube for Jennifer Lopez’s new project. They even changed the skin of their YouTube channel to match her fall collection.

Question: Do you think they should brand across Facebook and Twitter too? In my opinion, they should stay consistent and, if anything, feature photos of JLo across the top Facebook Page filmstrip and change the background of their Twitter Page. Building a cohesive brand campaign is the key to driving home the key messages.

Check out these cheeky videos below teasing Jennifer Lopez’s new collection launching in September. What are your thoughts on this video campaign?

Fans of Quiksilver will also be able to get involved by voting for ‘Fan Favorite’ submissions to be included alongside Quiksilver’s picks in the book. In addition to the publication of winning submissions in this limited-edition book, each winner will receive a shopping spree for the new Quiksilver collection. Awesome!

Armani Exchange enlisted 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord to act as the brand’s first StyleBRITY. Armani Exchange had AnnaLynne style 10 looks from the A|X Holiday collection, incorporating her own unique sense of personal style and offering insider fashion tips on the best gifts for the upcoming holiday season.

AnnaLynne remixed and restyled the A|X Holiday collection to create looks that reflect Young Hollywood and LA Style, incorporating the latest trends. Check out some of AnnaLynne’s top choices from A|X that she chose as the perfect gift for the jock, the prep, the good-girl, the bad-girl and more.
